30 ml (1 oz) triple sec

An equal-parts vodka sour that emerged in the United States after World War II and became a staple of the 1970s and 1980s bar scene, served both as a shot and as a short cocktail. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass, or serve as a chilled shot. A close cousin of the Cosmopolitan, which adds cranberry and swaps in citrus vodka.
