Notes

Also known as the Cadillac Margarita. A premium riff on the classic Margarita that swaps triple sec for Grand Marnier, a cognac-based orange liqueur, and typically calls for reposado tequila instead of blanco.

The drink's exact origin is disputed. One thread traces it to the legendary Cadillac Bar in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, which opened a second location in San Antonio, Texas in 1974. But it was Larry Cano's El Torito Grill chain in Southern California that popularized the name "Cadillac Margarita" through the 1980s. A third claim places its birth at Spago in Los Angeles in 1989, tied to the launch of Patrón tequila.
